Mobility is an important local economic factor, as mobility can impact local prosperity in many ways. ​Having a mobile workforce is important from a skills and industry point of view. However, a highly mobile workforce in terms of movement out of the town is a local economic loss. Attracting workers from outside the town is an economic gain, but can have negative impacts on transportation systems and the night-time downtown economy.
